On the 31st of October, 1934, Ludlow and District Rugger Club held their inaugural meeting in the Feathers Hotel. The majority of attendees at that meeting were teachers at Ludlow Grammar School, where rugby had recently replace football as the game of choice. More than 80 years on Ludlow’s gone from a club that did little other than concentrate on games and social events to one which is at the centre of the community.

The club house sits next to the convergence of the rivers Teme and Corve, in the shadow of Ludlow castle. It’s picturesque location and facilities mean it is used for some kind of social event nearly every day of the week, from wedding receptions to book launches.
The clubs partnership with the local community and schools has seen it awarded the prestigious RFU and Club England Club Mark accreditation award, which is all thanks to the hard work of the many volunteers at the club.
Several players from Ludlow RFC have gone on to play at county and North Midlands level.
